Thibedi Mogoba
Thibedi Mogoba is currently the Chairman of Meso Group (Pty) Ltd, which he established in 2004 as an equal shareholder in the business.. He then diversified his business interest through his investment company NAISTIPS Holdings and taken interest in (5) businesses cutting across sectors such as Rail, ICT, Property Development and Energy Consulting. He holds directorship in these companies namely Rodesh Property Development, RAILTOENERGY Investment (Pty) Ltd, Intellehub SA (Pty) Ltd, (Pty) Ltd and SCAD Software Africa (Pty) Ltd.
He carries over 17 years of working experience primarily in the I.C.T industry, where he studied BSc Computer Science Degree at UPE, and became a MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer) back in the early days of his career. He also holds other certifications in the ICT Sector as an Assessor and Moderator. Currently enrolled a Cyber Security Course with Regenysis
He worked as a Technical Advisor on a number of projects pertaining to bridging of the digital divide in rural and remote area of South Africa, where he spearheaded the advancement and establishment of USAL (Under Serviced Area Licenses). He served as the Technical Director and Advisor for Bokone Telecoms (Pty) Ltd, which was one of the first USALs to be granted a license in 2002 to operate in CAPRICORN DISTRICT 35, in the Limpopo Province by DOC and ICASA.
Thibedi has a special interest and expertise in innovation for economic development, especially technology development in the ICT space. In 2007, through Zero Missing Tracking and Identification, he secured an International Patent on the concept and technology of tracking and identifying individual persons in situations of going missing. Currently the company has a prototype going towards completion and the initial rollout will be at school levels for kids as young as 6 years of age.
In his working experience he has worked for companies such as Ambassador IT, Xerox SA, ITMaster, and Batsumi Technologies being an IT Consultant. He has played a very pivotal role in ICT SMME Development in advocating for small companies’ advancement in major contracts such as the SARS-Outsource contract running in 2002-2005, which was serviced by Arivia-Choice-Mtombo Technologies consortium subcontracting SMME’s in every region.
He is currently the General Secretary of Black Technology Association, which takes pride in being a mouthpiece for emerging Black Information Technology companies.
